Concrete Placing

  • Rideon Screeds / Light-Weight Screeds
  • Boomed Screeds / Concrete Placement

Mixing, transporting, and handling of concrete should be carefully coordinated with placing and finishing operations. Concrete should not be deposited more rapidly than it can be spread, struck off, consolidated, and bullfloated and  deposited continuously as near as possible to its final position

Concrete Paving

Pavers are most commonly installed over a compacted base of soil and sand. Because there isn’t any grout between the joints, concrete pavers offer a permeable surface that allows water to pass through. However, this also means that they may shift over time and that weeds could grow between the stones. Hiring a professional paver contractor to install your pavers, rather than laying them yourself, is the best way to protect your patio, driveway or sidewalk from these concerns.

Concrete finishing

Our finishing equipment is sourced by the best vendors in the industry: Allen Engineering USA, BTC Italy, and AB Lindec Sweden. From large platform ride on trowels, to finish blades and float pans, Cantec stocks an extensive range of equipment and consumables to match specific production requirements and budgets.

Concrete Joints

Control joints are placed in concrete slabs to control random cracking. A fresh concrete mixture is a fluid, plastic mass that can be molded into virtually any shape, but as the material hardens there is a reduction in volume or shrinkage. When shrinkage is restrained by contact with supporting soils, granular fill, adjoining structures, or reinforcement within the concrete, tensile stresses develop within the concrete section. While concrete is very strong in compression the tensile strength is only 8 to 12 percent of the compressive strength.
